The Big Event
It’s the time of year when we’d normally be gearing up for AXPONA. Going up to Chicago to get the chance to meet people and get introduced to new brands has always been one of the best parts of the year at Glenn Poor’s, but unfortunately we weren’t able to get a team together to make the trip that week and will have to miss it for the first time. While we’re very sad we won’t get to experience the event, we wanted to take this opportunity to try something new and find a way to still give people a chance to check out our fantastic equipment. So, on that note, I’m happy to announce our first Glenn Poor’s Showcase, April 18th and 19th.
We’ll be open at our main store on Kirby and Mattis from 4-8pm on Friday and 10am-5pm on Saturday and would love to see you all there. Come enjoy refreshments and conversation with other hi-fi enthusiasts, and most importantly get the chance to share some music and listen to the great systems we’ll have set up. The main focus of our demos will be presenting speakers from YG Acoustics, a brilliant company we were introduced to at AXPONA a couple years ago. Their Peaks series has quickly become a favorite for all of us here at the shop and we’ll have a range of models from that line to listen to set up throughout the store. As a special bonus, I’m also very excited to say that we’ll have a pair of YG’s Hailey 3.2s in our main listening room for the weekend. These Reference-class speakers have gotten incredible reviews and I can’t wait to see what they sound like here.
Oh, and there’s sales too! To celebrate the event and the upcoming 50th anniversary of Glenn Poor’s Audio Video we’ll be offering discounts on almost all of our electronics in stock throughout the store starting on the 18th and continuing for the next week. We have a lot of great amplifiers/streamers/turntables in need of a new home and this event seems like a great opportunity to give something back to all of you. As usual we always encourage you to listen before you buy, and so we’ll have many of these components featured as part of our demo systems with the YGs for the weekend.
